01Documents and local preferences
Asterdown opens and saves ordinary Markdown files in locations you select. Folder access uses macOS permissions and security-scoped bookmarks. Preferences retain settings, authorized paths, and saved session layout; they do not provide a backup of unsaved document text.
02Accounts and analytics
The current app has no Asterdown account system or first-party document server. The reviewed app code and privacy manifest contain no analytics integration; the manifest declares no tracking or collected data types. This does not describe data Apple may handle through its own services.
03Remote images and image providers
Preview can request remote images from the URLs in your document. Upload, download, migration, and connection tests communicate with the PicGo HTTP, S3-compatible, or Cloudflare R2 endpoints you configure. Those providers receive the relevant image data and request metadata under their own policies.
04Provider credentials
Configured provider secrets are stored in the macOS Keychain. Provider configuration and preferences are stored locally. Only configure a destination you trust and have permission to use.
05This website
This static website adds no analytics, ads, tracking cookies, or third-party font requests. Its image viewer runs locally in your browser. The website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may process standard request data such as IP addresses and access logs under its own privacy policy.
06Support and updates
The Support page provides guidance and does not collect reports through a form. If you share a report through a separately provided channel, remove private document content and credentials first. This notice will be updated if data practices change.
